Nigerian woman cancer survivor fights on
The number of deaths worldwide from cancer is projected to continue to rise to over 11 million a year by 2030.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says the disease is a leading cause of death across the world, but there are many cancer survivors too.
Oluwakemi Kehinde Oygbile is a Nigerian woman who survived breast cancer and is now involved in a global campaign known as “We Can, We Should, We Will Conquer Cancer.”
She shared her story with Derrick Mbatha during her recent visit to New York as part of the campaign to draw the world’s attention to the human burden of cancer and other non-communicable diseases.
