The conference, held in Seoul, South Korea, brought together more than 1,000 participants from 26 countries. Scientists, physicians, health care providers, and advocates discussed the latest developments in breast cancer research and efforts to raise breast cancer awareness. Outside of the conference, Dr. Barbasch joined Society staff Shalini Vallabhan and Sang-hee Cho to meet with representatives of the National Cancer Center, the premier Korean government cancer control agency, to plan an upcoming American Cancer Society University in Korea. In a separate meeting, they also talked with representatives of the Korean Cancer Society about developing closer collaboration on broad cancer prevention messages and specific activities related to colorectal cancer in Korea.
